two laps, ok, but that crash was big and was going to take a long time to
clean up. JV was being silly when he said what he said. F1 cars are not
designed to run behind a pace car (and their tyres definitly are not). They
lose pressure which can lead to big problems on the restart (some theories
on Senna's crash point blame to the long pace car period prior to the
restart). Not to mention the fact that they would have restarted not knowing
if they had picked up punctures whilst going through the debris (which again
could have led to a big crash). Charlie made the right decision, and people
who think Schumacher gets favoured by FIA are just *** theorists and
talking rubbish. Personally I don't like him very much (Hill fan, and cannot
forgive him for Adelaide 94), but I do rate him. Thats my two pence worth.
