Hmmm, the monarchy batting 0 for 2 so far.....!

Mitch, you *really* need to work on your literary comp. How you find
"blame" in that sentence, while missing the avarice is amazing.

Believe me, having come back from my first day's mountain biking since
breaking my wrist, a pint sounds superb. To counter the Scottish myth,
I'll even pay!

Short arms and deep pockets indeed! :-)

Well of course John, and MOST people would say that most sports figures
shouldn't get paid as much as they do either.  Free country and no limit on
wages, that is a good thing.  I would assume that you would rather tax
people at 100% bracket if they earn over 30k.  That way everyone could be
equally miserable :)

Bill

I could CARE LESS what the UN says - As I am sure most Americans would
say/vote as well.   Therefore, who cares how far we fell short :)

Bill

> The US agreed to the standard - does that make you puke?

> Then fell short by almost 90% - does that raise a little vomit?

Ok, go ahead and explain.  I would love to hear this :)

Bill

P.S.  I am just having fun --- I do lean to the right, but like having
debates with the left every so often.

You should learn not to assume - you'd post fewer incorrect suppositions.

It's funny those with the freedom to award themselves such salaries
highly approve, but those self same people also howl in horror when a
minimum wage is set. Reason is it protects people from exploitation by
"the market".

Freedom is assumed to be universal, but it's not, at least not the kind
we have. It's extremely highly contextual, and cannot be considered to
be equally applied to all.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with me? Despite all evidence to the
contrary I *still* persist in having high hopes for people. Then I read
selfish horseshit like this.

Bill, there are 45,000 people PER DAY dying of starvation around the
world. THAT is who cares, and why we should care.

Still, I'd better warn you they're not from the US, so f*ck 'em, eh? Who
could care less?

> So what are YOU doing about it John?

What do you think, as much as I can! One person can't do much, but we
are all just one person. Get a lot of "one persons" and things start to
improve.

So to reverse the subject change back to yourself, how about you? Do you
think it's worth caring about, even acting upon? We worry about gas
going over $3 per gallon, and if the SUV was a good purchase, while
driving to McDonalds for calories we don't need. Meanwhile elsewhere in
our cozy planet those 45,000 people a day are dying worrying where their
next meal comes from.

No-one said the world had to make sense.
