Indeed, I found his words regarding the early pioneers very upsetting
and disrespectful. So for that reason I *sadly* have to place him in my
kill file, he's the only one in it btw.

Does anyone else feel that he went way too far?

Cheers

Ps, there's one name missing from the R.A.S Silent Tribute, any guesses
who's?

Yeah, I didn't think about Newman until later.  There's also another driver
near or at 70, but I can't remember which series - IMSA(or whatever replaced
it)?

According to my newsreader, you posted a reply to me in my thread at 2:15
a.m., and then waited a whopping hour and a half until 3:45 a.m. to start
this new thread. Most people do tend to sleep in the middle of the night,
although I am probably an elitist for thinking this way, and my facts are
all wrong.

BTW, I didn't create any mess. When I read something that I honestly feel is
ridiculous (as you and some others claimed my post was), I don't waste my
time responding. Why do you?

Yeah, his concern for NASCAR to start looking at safety.  The one item that
was lost in all your other total BS of a post.

Don, while I agree with almost everything you have said in your very eloquent
posts throughout this thread, you should re-read the first part of the first
sentence you quote.  This is a list of drivers who participated in Formula One
who died "racing cars", not necessarily Formula One cars.  For example, Jim
Clark died racing a Formula Two car at Hockenheim, Bruce McLaren died testing
his Can-Am car at Goodwood, Mike Spence died in a sports car race (if
I remember correctly), etc.

Just trying to set the record straight.

Yeah, and his other point was the total bullshit way of thinking that dying
while racing is ok because he was doing what he likes to do, and that's it's
just part of the sport.

Waltrip said this, "It's just like, `A guy got killed, but it's OK because
he was doing what he likes to do.' I mean, give me a break! (It's like) a
guy riding down the road and he gets shot in the head by some weirdo. (You
don't say) `Well, he was driving down his favorite road.' ... There's no
rationale."

I said this, "I keep hearing the phrase, "Death is a part of auto racing,
and these
drivers understand that but want to do it anyway." Bullshit. It isn't a part
of all types of auto racing."

That very prevalent line of thinking among NASCAR fans and the people who
run NASCAR is EXACTLY why I'm so critical of it. Your bullshit replies
showed you have no ability to comprehend.

Understand now, kids?

You have repeatedly stated you could care less for Nascar, so why do you
even give a flying flip?
I could care less about F1, and couldn't even begin to quote any statistics
for it, including deaths - cause I don't watch it or know the drivers. I
would be saddened to hear of anyone dying in it, but I sure as hell ain't
going to try and start telling F1 fans how their sport is dangerous and
ill-run.
You have no interest in Nascar - give it up, go watch the pansies :)
