Thank you, Joe. It's a very sad day, or will be when we get over the shock.
There were hundreds just on the 4 planes. The casualites will likely be in
the tens of thousands.
20,000 were projected to be in the World Trade Center towers. 100+ were
killed in the Pentagon.
And crowds in Palestein cheered.
What's truly sick about this is that once it becomes political, the people
killed most of which had nothing at all to do with one cause or another
aren't so much missed because they died, they're treated as a statement.
Innoents were slaughtered. That's all that this attack really meant. ***
nationalism.

This tragedy is effecting many of us here in the U.S. I live/work in an
area between Washington D.C. and Baltimore, MD. My secretary has a brother
who used to work in the WTC. Several people I know work at the Pentagon.
One of my analysts has a buddy who is a beat cop whose district is the WTC.
I have no idea how any of these people are doing. It is very disturbing.
Please join with me and pray for those lost, as well as their friends and
families.

The saddest part is the people on the airplanes and in the buildings,
especially the hijacking, which was truely cowardly. So many people in
other countries hate the US for its policies, especially in the middle-east
towards Israel. Well, alot of Americans can't influence policy at the drop
of a hat, and not all Americans are anti-Palestinian, I certainly bet most
of the innocent people who died in this cowardly act bore no ill-will. Why
can't people just get along, put the hate, nationalist jingo aside... Some
of the greatest evil in the world comes from the mouth of religion, and
patriotism is often the virtue of a coward.
Time to stop state support of Israel has to end, time to stop bleeding
for a cause most Americans don't give a shit about. If they want to kill
each other, fine, but American shouldn't be involved. Oh, I don't think
much of the Palesltinian leadership either... we are talking about folks
that think its ok to teach kids to become human bombs.
I hope there is some kind of retaliation. I don't think we should "wipe
them all out", but some kind of military response is called for.

This is what they want.
Find them. Try them, fairly. Punish them, justly.
Let the heavens stand, though justice be done.

The draft or the war? If there's a war after this, it seems the draft
wouldn't be necessary. Hell, my first [emotional] reaction would be to
go myself - and I'm a 39 year old with a young baby.
