Take a look at their platform...exactly what would a socialist
nowadays disagree with...? Well ok most would say that killing all the
Jews was a bad idea..but then again sort of looks like Europe is
getting the hang of attacking the jews all over again so maybe even
thats not so far out of line.

It's not just him, man.  Most Americans don't have any understanding
whatsoever about politics,  Ask any average Joe on the street here
what the difference between a Democracy, Republic, Monarchy, and
Commune are and they'd have no real idea, other than that "Democracy
is the one where you're free and stuff."  I wouldn't even attempt to
explain to them what Socialism is or point out that neither a
Socialist nor Democratic (nor Democratic Socialist, since I'm blurring
economy and government here =) state has never actually existed.

Everytime I hear some idiot spout off about the US being this great
beacon for Democracy it makes me sick in my stomach.
