Exactly, Gerry. Exactly. All designed to entertain the spectators and,
before commercialism entered the arena (pun intended), to entertain the
participants who, after the game, returned to the real world.

(Although I would classify cricket as a form of torture. I think that the
Spanish Inquisition invented cricket.)

Having been involved in retail at some stage of my long and wearisome career
path, I can assure you that the sale of ladies hats would be well-focused
and organised by the sales staff and management.

It's the ladies themselves who create the chaos.

Hmmmm.............seems that there's a bit of a similarity
there............. :)

I'll have mine medium-rare, thanks very much. And hold the salad.

Commendable, Jan. Well done.
No doubt those who were subject to your governance were (and are) most
grateful.
(Why you would even mention making excuses I have no idea and what golf has
to do with it leaves me bemused as well.)

Why don't you get a real newsreader and filter out all threads with
RASCAR in the title if it bothers you? It doesn't bother me in the
least.

Nevermind.  Was just expressing an opinion on the subject, post away.
Sorry for intruding into your private newsgroup ;-)

Here's an interesting (well, possibly boring.....it's up to you, the reader,
to determine that) scenario:-

What if someone watched a RASCAR race and then published herein their
observations of said race in which they critiqued the performance and
behaviour of the participants and the organisation?
And what if the post wasn't made until, say, Tuesday?

Is anyone going to tell me that such a post wouldn't receive a reaction from
those being referred to?

Just a hypothetical, of course. :)

Sim-racers aren't the only ones.
There are plenty of real-world examples where two or more protagonists will
get together and rehash previous situations.
It's a natural thing to do.

Attempting to stop it is a weird move.

My intent was not to compare John and Eldred to Rod, just to give an example
of how a league can be very successful by allowing the drivers to have a
major say in what is and is not implemented. Believe me, we have gone
through some pains with too many yellows early on in the change to the new
physics model as well.

Back when I actually ran some with Rascar, I was very impressed by the
quality of the drivers and the clean racing. Obviously ,. things have
changed since then.

My hats off to Eldred and John for putting the time in for Rascar that they
do, I have been there as you know and know what it is like.
:)

Well, *I* don't know how to get out of the way without hitting the outside
wall.  Same thing happens at Bristol - I go high to let someone by, the track
narrows, and I hit the wall.  That either damages my car, or I get stuck on the
wall glue, which triggered a multi-car wreck there last season.
I don't consider EITHER of those tracks wide enough for good safe racing.  It's
a lot tougher on those of us who don't have speed.  When you can keep up, you
don't have to move over, and can run your line.  When you're off the pace, you
have to give way, which usually results in grief(for me, anyway).
