You know me so well. I guess I have an online girlfriend now.

Pretty sad that some people can't follow a progression of events and
understand why it was done.

As hilarious as this thread has been with it's ups and downs, this post is a
reminder of why I'm still following it, painful as it may be.
The pure comedy!
(this one, and that really long wordy funny one for the otherside are my two
favs so far)

You say sim racing = music and practicing GPL for 3 years is like practicing
the same song for three years....

Well, there's 7 cars in GPL which all handle very differently, and 11
original tracks and 130+ add on tracks (I havent counted).

So thats like learning 7 different different musical instruments and
practicing at least 11 orchestral pieces. That's going some!! So, if the
Lotus is the Piccolo and the Honda is the Tuba, then the Nurburgring is the
1812 overture!!

Pointless drivel I know.

"David G Fisher"  wrote

No David, I read your comment:

To which my snooker analogy stands

Now I don't know if there was more to this thread and I have plucked out
this section out of context in true journalistic style, or there was some
other discussion I have missed.

So to be quite honest no I don't know. I guess it could be:

Too obsure for me
Too clever for me
Some friendly anti-GPL banter
A personal (not so friendly) attack
Part of the Pabst/DGF "off their heads" theory subscribed to elsewhere in
this thread - not by me of course :-)

Or it could be known of the above!

Cheers

So your saying it's not just practice - but familiarity as well?

I've driven several cars in the last 12 months. For each, I knew what to do
but it needed a bit of time to become comfortable (so I didn't run over old
ladies and school kids). Pedal feel - where the gear shift, indicators,
clutch etc. Currently driving an auto V8 with loads of torque so the hire
car last weekend with 1.6l, 4 cyls and 5 speed was a re-awakening. Messy
first 100m but became lots of fun from then on. Back home to the 5.7l and a
new learning curve with even more fun.

That was pretty fluffy - how do you recommend getting a new look at GPL? I'm
struggling to get below 2:08 at bathurst compared to the aliens 2:00x.
Maybe, I just need to go back to your tutorial...
