They used to make some not-so-bad products and still do (rarely, but
still), but their 'swallow-it-or-die, we're here to stifle any
competition' business model put me off a long time ago,
in an era where you still had something to choose between computers
(Commodore/Atari/Amiga/Apple/MSX/etc), not just between Wintel-clones,
clones & clones and the odd Mac. Because sadly, that's how far we've come.

So on one hand it'll be great to put new life in Sierra/Papy, but on
the other hand we'll need to buy an XBOX to play anything new.

How about we pick a racing sim that I've worshipped for years, and Gerry
never plays?
If manly reputations are going to be put on the line, and since many people
are sneaky, lying, little cheaters who will do anything for an edge (see the
White House), then the only fair thing to do is to have us race in a sim
that neither of us has any experience in the moment it's released.
Remember this? Gerry could of joined in and raced in any of those LFS races in the days Gerry can say what he wants about me. I couldn't care less. I was a regular Maybe he's still annoyed at the news that I beta'd his precious VROC David G Fisher

competitor with the top drivers in a number of different sims, competed in
sposored tournaments and made it to the highest level. If he wants to say I
(and others, as I'm the second one in 24 hours) don't race GPL because I'm
not good enough than that's fine with me. He's desperate as usual.

Hmmm, I race in RASCAR every week. We use N2002 which is much more
"realistic" than GPL. I get in and go just like every other racing game.
N2003 is even more "realistic" than N2002 supposedly.
I'm so scared.

That's complete and total bullshit. It was there every night for about a
week. The times it would be up were announced here. The only time the server
was shut down was when it was announced it would be after a long session had
already been completed or, everyone's latency spiked through the roof. It
was then set up again immediately. Ask George S., Mitch A., ymenard, Doug
H., Andreas N. or anyone else that was there. If you signed on at all, it
must of been under some fictious name.
You're sounding like Mr. Powell now.

MS is about making money, MS understands about making money, if MS were
to give racing sims another shot it's because they believe it's money to
be made from it, either directly or indirectly, if money can be made
from racing sims our hobby has a future
That's what matters to me, BG can be the devil reincarnate for all I
care, he makes money from filling a need, if the need isn't there he
creates it, if he can create a need for racing sims, he'll get my money,
and other companies will most likely try to follow his example if they
see it's possible to make money
