You seem to recognize errors when you make them and honestly want to
improve yourself. I can respect that. Everyone makes mistakes
sometimes - it is our reaction to our own mistakes that is important.

1) I never knew we had an "official r.a.s. leader."
2) Why do we need an "official r.a.s. leader." ?
3) What makes you think that you should be the "official r.a.s. leader." ?
4) What makes you think that you are so popular and do good things for
r.a.s.? You write lots of messages, but that doesn't mean that you are
    helping anyone.
5) I don't think that shortening your sig is a good example that you
should
be the "official r.a.s. leader". It shouldn't have been so long in the
first
    place.

You have free TIME?

Where did you pirate that from?

I copyrighted TIME and placed a LARGE price on it.
(So large that Gates can't even buy any!)
Most of all, it's not transferable.
If you lose it, no one can GIVE it back to you.

Just in case :)

>snippola<
>>In terms of popularity, I think that I should be the

third in this list of most influent person on r.a.s.  I think probably
to take the place of "leader of r.a.s."  Some people will probably don't
like this but we had to.  I will not moderate this newsgroup.<

this goes with your support also.  I have great respect on each of
yourselves, and I hope you have also great respect to me, for all I did
to the community.  Like per exemple I've alleged my signature file, so
that the download time would take less time.

                                        ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
<<

Quel surprise!

I didn't know there WAS a "leader of r.a.s." Were you elected,
appointed, hired, retained, invited, cajoled, bribed, called by God, or
had a scimitar lobbed at you by a moistened bint?

I am truly curious as to why (a) r.a.s. needs a leader, (b) why you
think you should be it, (c) how you've managed to avoid breaking your
arm patting yourself on the back, and (d) why you haven't choked to
death with that much of your foot, ankle and leg in your mouth.

Congratulations on your 18th birthday -- I'm sure in future years it
will be as celebrated as that of Alexander the Great.

Good luck

Bart

Now, wait a minute guys/gals... this man must be a genius!!! I mean,
think of it... he's found the perfect method of actually bringing
ALL of us together for a common cause: hammering him to smithereens.

Truly, an inspirational martyr.  :)

Oh, my god, people that age are allowed to vote in most countries...

Get lost, this group don't need no stinkin' leader!

You mean you missed it?  I was promoted to that position a while back, but
I recently resigned because my new position (I'm in charge of rebooting the
internet every so often to keep things running smoothly) has taken way too
much of my free time. =)

ROTFLMAO!!!

Ok...now that I have that out of my system, just let me say this...

IMHO, you haven't shown enough 'leadership' to take over r.a.s, as it
were.  You
haven't gained the respect needed.  And finally, you said it
yourself...you are
NOT the moderator, so therefore...you can't be the leader.

This group has indeed covered a lot of ground, but I don't think it has
'evolved'.  The only good thing is that there isn't 10 gazillion spam ads
like there are in
other groups.

There has been a ton of information posted (both legal and otherwise),
while at
the same time some people have managed to scare off some people and
more than likely lost the respect of the same by the antics of others.

Now, I don't proclaim to be perfect.  I don't think anyone is.  I know I
certainly
have done more lurking that participating, but I only post when I feel the
need
to respond, such as the case here.

I never felt that Mike Carver or Eric Busch were the 'leaders' of r.a.s.
They just
happen to have a wealth of information which they have so graciously
shared.
If that makes them a 'leader', then you have a lot of catching up to do.

Nothing personal, mind you.  Just my observations.  My apologies to you if
I
have taken offense.

Kid, congrats on the bday.  When you get older you'll realize that respect
and leadership are earned--not self-bestowed.  People who are true leaders
and humanitarians (on any level) don't need to waste their time singing
their own praises.  If praise is deserved,  others will do that little job
for them.  Age doesn't have anything to do with "acting like an ***".
True ***s don't have to tell anyone they're acting like ***s.   When
you have legitimate input, advice, and help to offer, give it in a selfless
fashion.  Respect, leadership, and ***hood will then take care of itself.

Well, most of the usenet is pure ANARCHY!  With anarchy, there can't be
any leaders.  r.a.s., I am proud to say is an extremely good example of
Anarchy Rules!

There are no leaders, just pebbles being tossed by the fastly moving
waters of the usenet.  Some seem to raise to the top only to be tumbled
away, sometimes raising to the top again, and sometimes not.

"Badges?!  We don't need to stinking badges!"
