Hey Francois  are you on *** pal?  maybe you need to seek help that
certainly can't be found here.  As an "official" reader of r.a.s.,  I
vote you just take your balls (boy you got big ones) and go home.

> (Incredibally naive and silly drivel snipped....)

Excuse me while I ....throw ..... up .... BLEGHGHEAGHGHEAGH!!!!!!

By the way, the respect of the people on your list was earned by their
extensive knowledge and helpful (yet humble!) input. I have not seen any
thing particularly new or useful that you have contributed to this
group. (unless you want to include illegally distributing the Indy
track.)

As for your popularity..... never mind. I'm not going to go there.
Suffice to say that breaking the law isn't the way to gain respect or
popularity.

I agree.

Francois, it's great to hear that you're conscious of 'weaknesses' in
your netiquette, and want to be less scathing (I think most of us
generally try to do the best we can too), but why do we need an RAS
leader?  I have a lot of respect for the work done by lots of people on
RAS, and for those people in general, including Eric and Mike, but I
wasn't conscious of the fact the group apparently had a leader, I
thought it was essentially an open forum for sim racers.  I have to say
that, no offence intended, but it does seem a little arrogant to call
yourself the leader just because you post a lot (do you have a 'Gary
Glitter' costume? :-) ).

Happy birthday, BTW! :-)

ROTFLOL!  Glad to hear of your new position.  I was wondering why the
net seemed so much better of late. ;-)

Cool, Francois,
Do we all get to wear arm badges and invade Europe too?
No offense Francois, but I think this newsgroup is doing just fine so
far without a self appointed leader. Just contributing is good enough,
or do like Pieter and contribute a Great deal.
So as much as I like marching in a parade with a cool uniform, I'll
have to pass on this nomination.

Eric, could you please reboot it again? It's ever so slow here, and I'm
thinking that it just needs a good boot. ;)

I'm not a huge player in the sim racing world but I've taken a
couple-three laps around various N1 and N2 tracks and have been
*** around in this group for quite some time, but at any rate I'll
offer apologies ahead of time if I step on anyone's toes below:

>take his place.  In terms of popularity, I think that I should be the
>third in this list of most influent person on r.a.s.  I think probably
>to take the place of "leader of r.a.s."

I saw an earlier post of yours stating that you were one of the
"leaders" of the newsgroup because of the large number of posts you
write. However, the quantity of your posts and the quality of those
posts are worlds apart. If you think what you've offered the group in
terms of helpfulness or usefulness is anything near what Mssrs.
Sparks, Carver, or Martin have offered, you've got another thing
coming.

I recall one very early appearance of you in this newsgroup was to
post the entire Indianapolis track here. That was a major league
bone-headed move on many fronts, and something (in my eyes) you
haven't ever recovered from, reputation-wise. And now you claim to be
our "leader"?

If you're going to assume this non-existant position, you had better
explain this "but we had to" part.

Cue the violins.....

This may not have been a wise move on your part, either.

Exactly how are you going to "lead" us? Are you going to tell us what
is and isn't on topic? Are you going to tell bad people that they
can't post in this newsgroup? There's no such thing as a "leader" in
an unmoderated newsgroup - you have absolutely zero power over content
and access. Sure you can stroke your ego and put cool lines in your
.SIG file saying you're a newsgroup "leader", but seriously folks....

Everytime I see this line I remember your silly little stunt.... and
now you want to be a leader....

Again, apologies if I'm stepping on anyone's toes here, but this
fellow solicited our opinions. I hope they're taken in the spirit
they've been offered.
