Yes, F1 fans all over the world haven't said a word this week about the
Montoya/Schumacher incident. No stories have been written either. The only
discussions have come from here at r.a.s., initiated by me.

David G Fisher (Who wonders why Gerry Aitken doesn't get it)

"Who said you said that then?" -- Gerry Aitken
"He said I said that when he said what he said." -- David G Fisher

300 million viewers for each race? What kind of dope have you been
getting into? I love watching F1 but 300 million viewers for each race?
Phew... hahahaha

| Anyway, F1 races attract on average about 300 million viewers for each
race.

<yawn> That's what was reported in an article I read at Atlas F1 a few
months ago (and no, I didn't save the article just in case someone from
r.a.s. wants proof).

It may also surprise you to know:

F1 may have surpassed even soccer as the most popular sport in the world.

Michael Schumacher was the highest earning athlete in sports last year at 55
million.

Ferrari spends 250-300 million a year on their F1 team.

This isn't NASCAR you know.

For someone as smart as you, I'm surprised as to how selective you are in
your criticisms. *Hint* Check the post by Tom preceding mine.

I did, I have no problem with you mocking Thom. *Hint* check the bit I
didn't snip. My comment stands.

I'm not picking on you. You can post anything you like and get away with it
as long as I don't happen to read it. This just happens to be one of the
threads I'm following. You ruffle my feathers, I ruffle yours... simple as
that.

Do you expect anyone to believe that on each or any F1 race there
are 300million viewers? Its real hard to imagine 300million viewers
watching any one program at any given time. phew!!
Poor Davie F better stop sniffing his burnt'out mobo over his place

Jan, His attempt of mockery toward me is just fine! I just consider the
source & his comments are quite entertaining... Sadly they are usually
quite ludicrous too..*Hint* At least I gave others a break as he made
a poor attempt of aiming his sights toward me..<g>

Hmm, I might be wrong.

This fellow says it's more like 600 million.

You know something, I was just thinking the other day after reading one of
your posts how you refreshingly always manage to keep your sense of humour
on r.a.s., and are able to keep these things in perspective. Guess that
ability slipped a little today for some reason.

That's why M. Schumacher (after viewing the tape) said: "I want to
make it clear that, in my opinion it was a normal race incident".

   Wrong again, David.

"But in a way, fear is a big part of racing, because if there was
nothing to be frightened of, and no limit, any fool could get into
a motor car and racing would not exist as a sport." -- Jim Clark

Read the whole thread as this has been addressed.

Just so you know, Schumacher accused Montoya of intentionally trying to take
him off the road after the race. I never agreed with that accusation by
Schumacher. His latest remarks only dismiss that accusation.

Reading comprehension. Take a course.
