Maybe too late to ask about this, but I just noticed something recently.
When racing at the higher difficulty levels you often find yourself having
to drive a damaged car. This presents itself in handling difficulties, often
requiring to hold the wheel at an angle to drive straight ahead. So far so
good, but I've noticed that, depending on the severity of the damage, the on
screen wheel does not mimic the position of my controller (TM Nascar
Pro/L4/Direct Input) anymore. Sometimes presenting a deflection of as much
as 10-15% from the center position when my wheel is centered. I find that
very odd and off-putting. Surely when I hold my wheel level the wheel in the
game should be level as well?? I'm not saying the car should go straight
when the wheel is level, but the on-screen wheel should be level as well, so
I don't get conflicting feedback between vision and feel.
While you're at it?? -Please? -I've defended the patch vigorously... ;-))

I do not think it's bashing. It's more hmm, constructive criticism.
We all love GPL. We all love the enhancement the patch gives for FF, and
online-racing. We want it to -work-. That's why it's frustrating for many.
It's soooooo great that we all try to make it work correctly. Thus we post
our problems, some of us think about possible solution. Sometimes they
work, other they won't.

I just think it's something that a Gentlemen would do, and any company that
cares about their customers would do. There is many customers that won't
return to Papyrus until N4 probably, so it's something that is very
appreciated. Many GPL fans didn't buy NR99 and won't buy N3 because it
doesn't have the new game engine. By pleasing them, there is a good chance
you get increased sales from this specific market.
Because NR99 was the first title I haven't bought by Papyrus. I've bought
all the previous <counts> 11pieces of software by the Papyrus Design Group
Inc. I think I forgot one :( (excluding Road Rash hehe). If they keep me
happy with GPL, I might buy N3 because of the work they do with the
client/server of GPL. At the moment Im not sure.

That's a pretty broad sweeping statement to make. I bought N99, and I'll
buy N3. I'm a fan of GPL but I hate open-wheel racing. I'm only
driving it because it allows online racing and N2 (for all intents and
puposes) does not. And before anybody gets offended, I don't count TEN
or Kali as viable online venues, so don't waste your breath with
references to them.
When N3 comes out, I'll be abandoning GPL as my primary form of computer-
based motosport entertainment.

Bashing? I haven't seen anyone flame those guys or the patch. If
Randy really did the patch on his own time then he needs and
deserves everyones appreciation (IMHO). What I have been
seeing is reports of problems but not bashing.
Make a few more stupid comments like this though and you
are libel to see some bashing all right :-)

BTW.... TEN is still a blast if you are in the right league and can put up
with TENS total disregard for its customers <VBG>
I am not the worlds biggest open wheel fan myself, but GPL is just too great
to ignore. What a blast of a sim =)

All of the GPL 1.1 related subjects have been reasonable.
Plus why is it that when one idiot starts bashing you make
it sound like everyone was doing it? That simply is not the
case. Most people are being very reasonable.
Are you trying to start trouble?
