Hi,
Does anyone remember the nascar 2 patches?  I remember after the
first patch, most contorllers jerked to the right slightly (made it seem
like you were bumped on the track) and Papy fixed the problem quite
quickly.  Papy impressed me, unlike another (much larger) company who
published a CART racing GAME that had a lot of bugs, I believe the
companies name started with an "M" and is headed by a very rich man with
initials "BG"! :) (sorry to bring back bad memories! :))

NO!  MAKE THE MEMORIES GO AWAY!  <g>  I used to have to suffer through 5 fps on
CPR in 320x200 mode on my old computer with the graphics low as possible
pre-patch.  It was impossible to drive.  But then, we got the patch and I could
turn off textures, raising my frame rate to a whopping 8 fps!  Of course, now I
have my PII 400 mhz with a voodoo2 card, so I get 50 or more fps constantly.

It still bugs me to think how they let that game out the door.  Even
with the patch it was still a pile of Cyrix chips. ;-)

Some of the bugs in that game were so blatant they must have known about
them - my favourite, NOT, being the warm up lap where all the AI cars,
whilst waiting to pull away, would turn around on the spot and then
start darting about all over the place in this ludicrous attempt to get
going.  This was still there even after the patch. Grrrr!

Actually, I still check now and again to see if they've updated the
patch, but no such luck.
