I'd love to do a full race one day :)  Daytona would be great!

RASCAR race June 8th

I did a 70 or 80 one time.  Forget the exact number.

And it was a BRISTOL race with yellows :)

After the first 100 laps or so, and after all the non-racers were weeded out
and sent home, it actually wasn't bad at all.  In fact, it was a damned fine
race.

RASCAR race June 8th

Oh, you don't WANT to have to live with my paint job :)

I spent 11 years in the Navy.  The first cruise I ever went on was a 7
monther in the Indian Ocean (during the hostage crisis).  Since my
particular rating wasn't a high priority over there, it was seen as a good
time to 'spiffy' up our equipment spaces.

I swear I laid 100 gallons of paint on that cruise, in 120 deg or hotter
heat.

I vowed from that day that if anyone ever MADE me paint something, I would
purposely do it so bad that they would regret it for the rest of their lives
:)

In later years, after I made Chief, I always took volunteer's.  There were
plenty who liked to do it.  I never forced anyone to pick up a paint brush.

And THAT is how much I hate, and how bad I am, at painting.

I'm not going to have time to resolve this by the next race.

This is the first time I've ever had a complaint about using the #8, too.

I'm sorry, but I still don't understand all of this.

I went to the web pages, but can't figure out what I'm supposed to do.

I can't find a specific listing of car numbers and who has them.

It's very simple.

When you run in open races, you end up racing with a wide variety of skills
and 'personalities'.  It's hard enough to finish a race without an incident
much less win one.

I'd rather run 100% at Watkins Glen with cautions off (but damage on
realistic. :)

I need your sierra ID and country.

If you're going to use Kevin Harvic's car, you need to copy that car
file to something like 29_j_moyer.cup.car, and then go intoopponent
manager and put your own name in the car file (don't forget to select
the new file as your online car).

I don't want to see "Kevin Harvic" on the grid on Saturday. Otherwise,
you'll get an earful.

I wasn't in the last couple of races, but if I had been, you would jave
had a complaint.  In fact, you may have been in the last race I was in,
and I recall someone asking if the #8 wasn't already taken.  But beyond
all that...

You have plenty of time to resolve it.  Just pick a different car number
and upload a car when you have the time.  If you want a car number with
an "8" in it, the following car numbers are available:

08
38
48 (you could use the Lowes car that came with the game in the meantime)
58
78
98

See?  That was easy.

Next, if you're not going to use #48, you'll have to do a minimal
paintjob for yourself until you come up with something appropriate.

All you need to do is create a new car file and plaster your selected
car number on it.  Don't worry about uploading it (until your official
paintjob is done) because the game will compensate for everyone else.

I'll make it easy for you - check the roster to see if the deesired car
number is in use.  If you see the yellow text "Available" on a green
rectangle, you can use that car number.

I thought I had spelled it out quite clearly.  What part don't you
understand?

It's right there in plain sight.  On the left pane, you'll see the word
"Roster".  To find out what you have to do, click that word.  Once you
read that, click the number pairs under the word "Roster". that cover
the range of numbers that includes the number you think you want to use.
For instance, if you think you'd like to use the number "8", click the
number pair "0-9".  The pane on the right side will change to show pics
of all the cars currently in use for that number range (0 through 9).
Well lookie there, someone already has the number "8" reserved. How can
you tell? Because there is either a paintjob shown (with someone's name
above it) or there's a white rectangle with a hand-drawn cartoon car
indicating that no paintjob has been submitted yet.

It's not that freakin hard.

The next easiest thing I can do is just assign the damn car numbers, and
I really don't feel like doing that.

John,

Chill out.  You don't have to be so condescending about this.

I explained that this is something I've never done before.  You need to have
more patience with people.

Read the new thread I've started.  I'll take the #98.  I'll start working on
the car.  I'll use the #48 and standard car until I have time to sort this
out.

Once I have the car done, I'll ask someone if I can't figure out what to do
with it.
