RASCAR race June 8th

by Brian Ost » Fri, 07 Jun 2002 23:13:15

In the Busch Bristol race there was one rookie that spun or was
involved in about 5 incidents that brought out the yellow and he was
allowed to continue.  In fact DW was commenting on the fact that it
was time for him to park it and it kinda became the running joke of
the day every time the yellow waved and he was involved in it some
how.

I hate driving around under yellow but then I see something like the
spring Busch Bristol race and realize that we are not that far off
from the real thing.  We are just closer to the Bush series or ARCA
then the Winston Cup series.

The only problem is that the user name people are using for the RASCAR
races may be the only time they use it.  In other words they might not
have built up there LPI.  I use zuguzg1 for everything but have been
considering making a new user name for the RASCAR races so people
would better know who I am.  If I did that my first RASCAR race I
would have an LPI of 0 even though my other ID has an LPI of 60.

I got caught in *3* saturday, and I was trying VERY hard to avoid them.  The
only reason it wasn't more was that I actually STOPPED on the track to avoid 2
more.  Since I was already in last place, I didn't have to worry about getting
nailed.

No, Mosport hasn't been done yet.  Monaco isn't going to happen - we'd never
get enough people to run full-length there.
Maybe I'll schedule Mosport one of these months...

We've done *10* full-length GP races.  I've also run in 50% races with the CORS
league, and full races with the MoG league.  You oughta try longer races more
often.
We *still* haven't done a full race with N2002...<g>

I know Eldred, this is the reply I usually get when riding my lpi
horse :-) but I've given the answer to that in detail in my discussion with
Dave, so I'll leave it at that for now. I hope you are aware that my not
resuming the discussion is not a sign of not taking your concerns seriously.

Actually, we are :)  Which isn't a bad thing necessarily.  Don't judge
much racing by the Busch races this year; that series is in the worst shape,
perhaps ever, this year.
Has weekly field-fillers each race, and the guy you mention above was one
of them.  The Busch races are a lot worse than "normal" this year(probably
will be for awhile too).

Hey John, I see that #29 is still available.  Can I get dibs on that?

Since my league car (the #23) is taken and I don't feel like
repainting it, I'll just use the default Harvick car if that's ok.

It's not in as much trouble as the Truck Series.  I just got back from
qualifying at TMS and there was about a 15 mph difference between 1st
and 32nd (last non-prov spot).  Only 35 attempted qual (36 max slots
for CTS).

You know, that would be pretty cool.  We could really kill ourselves
and do the 600 at Lowes.  Come to think of it, after playing N4 and
N2002 almost constantly since their release I have never run a race
that is more than 50% in length.

True, but the CTS has always been like that pretty much, whereas the Busch
Series hasn't.  IMO anyway :)
