Is it me or is there a huge steering deadzone even when the setting is at
zero?

LWFF 3.62 Profiler - is this a bit old?

Yea, I hate this too, I'm using 4.11 not any better.

my steering delay problems were caused by the 21.81 detonator drivers.  once
i loaded the 12.90's up (or 12.41's if you so desire) everything is peachy!

I've installed 4.0, set the speed sensitivity to almost zero and it seems OK
now.

In my previous mini review I also complained about steering lag.
Like when you steered, nothing happened...you steered a bit more,
and you was in the grass...as a result I was driving in the middle of
the road all the time.

I solved it. It appeared to be an huge deadzone in DirectX of 5%. The
hypersoftware abled me to adjust it to 0%, and all is well. (Les
Marton created the best control software I've ever seen, thx Les!)
For other wheels you can correct this with DxTweak, available at

http://www.wingmanteam.com/

Now F1 2001 is amazing to drive.

Something about DxTweak: I set my settings to 0 yesterday with
DxTweak. After that, calibration of my wheel was totally messed up.
Reinstall of the wheel didn't help.
I found the fix though, on www.wingmanteam.com is an utility called
Clrcalib. Set the values to 0 with DxTweak, run Clrcalib and reinstall
the wheel in windows gamecontroller properties.
Apparently Dxtweak ruins the calibration settings :-/

Yep. better to use this
http://home.att.net/~stickworks/swdownld.html#CTFJV320
It resets to default settings once it's unloaded from memory.
