F1 2001 demo at USGP wasn't F1 2001

Now that I've figured out how to get the game to run on my *work*
computer, I can honestly say what I originally thought when I saw the
game running at Indy for the USGP...

"That ain't F1 2001! That's gotta be F1 CS 2000!"

No way, with the way things look thru the new graphics engine, were they
playing 2001, I don't care what the guys told me. It was a straight
outta the box version of 2000 with maybe some name updates.

Sorry, this just occurred to me... Go about your business now... ;)

Actually, I was there*** out with Gjon Camaj of ISI and James
Hawkins of EA, and that WAS F1 2001 that they had running in the big
tent at the USGP.  I think they had some driver compability problems
with the PCs they were using, and it may not have been the FINAL
version, but it definitely WAS F1 2001.

John,

Tell the guys at EA to chuck these things at RAS a few days before they demo
the thing. We'll sort out the compatibility issues.

How many hours did it take for the posts to change from "runs like a dog" to
"now its sorted it is the dog's bollocks" ;-)
