hi

I am looking for comparative test between these 2
could anyone point me to a website ??

I have F12000 but hate the awful graphic and jaggies
makes looking ahead a real pain (1024 x 742 )
AI could do with some improvement.

if I wait for F1 2002, How much longer is the wait ??

The jaggies can be taken care of somewhat by using some method of
FSAA(depending upon your card.)  The FSAA or Anistrophy will lower your
framerate so be prepared to reduce some graphics.
F1 2002 should be out in May, but don't expect it to have LESS of a
graphic and CPU demand.  Games don't get faster by magic.

May 17 is a date that was being tossed about.  Not too far off - probably
worth waiting.  I'm anticipating it very eagerly.  I'm totally impressed by
the driving model in F12001 and all it really needs for F12002 to be a
classic is some cosmetic and functional additions and improvements.  But, if
you're bored in the meantime and see F12001 pretty cheap - don't hesitate.

F12001 has a new graphics engine, it's better than F1200, but I suppose it
is not as clean looking as F1RC. F1RC has ***AI, IMO..

F1RC never made it to my town in the U.S.  I started
racing online, NFS/PU, in December and could live without
AI, if there is an active online community.

As I understand it, the AI is the main complaint about
F1RC.  I remember reading that the tracks were extremely
accurate.  I had the impression that, apart from the AI,
people liked it.  I don't remember what was said about the
vehicle physics modeling.

How is the online play?  Can F1RC be a great online sim?

Keep in mind that F1 2001 is very cheap right now and when F1 2002 comes out
it will probably be two to three times the price.  I picked up F1 2001 at my
local "Office Depot" for $22.95 CAD (that's $15 US!), at that price, and
with GTMod available as a free add-on, why wait?

NO!  F1rc like all the other current F1 titles has a very pitiful
multiplayer component.  You CAN run multiplayer, but 4 players is about the
max...F1relay has done a lot of work to improve the F1 multi but it still
SUCKS compared to other types of racing.

I've never tried it online so can't coment. The phyics are not as good as
F12001, IMO. Some people say they are good (accurate?) but to me it felt
like I was floating just above the track with no feeling from the road,
except the rumble strips. F12001 on the other hand gives you lots of
feedback from the road if you are using a FFB wheel. In fact, many people
believe (me included) that F12001 surpasses even GPL in the quality of it's
FFB implementation.

Alain would you help me please with the GT mod? I'm not familiar with
that. I'm awaiting my copy of 2001 in the mail I understand there is a
couple of patches and a no cd add on of some sort never heard of no cd
before either.

Thanks

RC and it just helps when you are looking forward
to see the next corner.....

Yes, the patch fixed every major problem ever in F1RC and made it the
equivalent of GPL.  Tehehe

(there was never a patch for it, we were lied and completely treated like
arses by them)

Here is a great quote from an Ubi rep : "Ubi Soft guarantees that the patch
will be out before the release of the sequel".  LOL!

PowerVR makes the KyroII which is quite a nice DX7 card.  I wouldn't
hesitate in getting a KyroIII because of their great drivers, speed and
price :)
