FOVed problems with NR2003

by Bruce Mill » Fri, 13 Jun 2003 13:15:08

I am trying to use FOVed with NR2003.  FOVed will find the NR2003.exe,
save the search, and then allow me to change the numbers (same process
as modding GPL), but nothing changes/happens in the game to the FOV.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

FOVed is intended only for use with GPL, in NR2003 you can edit the field of
view in the graphics options menu.

Btw, I'd suggest you change the value back to default or replace your
NR2003.exe with the one on your NR2003 CD  as you may have changed a value
that will do some harm.

Alex,
Thanks for the reply, but there are several discussions on the Team
Lightspeed fourms of successful use of the FOVed utility with both
NR2002 and NR2003 with total success and no harm, but apparently no
one there has encountered this problem.

Also, I am trying to get below the 65 deg limitation on the options
menu, and another FOV editor I have tried has no effect either.  Is it
probable that I have a problem with the .exe?

Sorry I didn't realise that, I've had a look on the Team Lightspeed forums
and those discussions seem to be about N4/NR2002 not 2003.

Foved wont work with NR2003 because the field of view value has been moved
to the player.ini, if you try to set it out of range it just defaults back
to the normal range of 65-78.

.

Can FOV be set out of range by changing the player.ini values?

Nope, the only way I think it could be set out of range is in memory.
