NR2003 3D Audio Problem

When first entering NR2003, and having 3D Audio set, I can't hear my own
engine, but I can hear all other sounds.  Only after I go to Options and
uncheck it, re-enter the***pit, exit back to Options and re-check it,
do I finally hear my own engine in 3D Audio.  (Note:  When it's
unchecked, I always hear my own engine).  This is all offline.  I
haven't tried racing online yet.

I have an SBLive Value card, and the sounds in NR2003 are set at the
maximum 24.  My system is an Athlon XP2100 w/512 Megs RAM; Radeon 9700
Pro running Win98SE.

Anyone else experienceing this problem?  Any suggestions on how to fix
it?

Try turning down sound hardware acceleration in audio properties and in the
dx contol panel.  Worked for me.

I have the exact same problem however my system is quite different from
yours:

KT400 XP2800+ w/512 MB Ram, Radeon 9700 Pro, WinXP Pro, Hercules Game
Theatre XP
