If you're just looking for a "holdover" card, I'd suggest the Jaton
58p. Its ET6000 based. Very fast in DOS, with good Win95 performance.
I bought one with 4 meg for 85 bucks. Thats tough to beat.
It's 2D only, but the only card capable of decently running Direct3D
is the Voodoo anyway. I had a Screamin' 3D, and it stinks compared to
my current Diamond Monster in D3D.
I don't know much about the Trident, but I'd be very suspicious of its
abilty to run GLQuake until I saw it,  even though Trident claims it
supports GL.

Jaton Blaze 3D or Graphics Blaster 3D performance?

How's the Jaton Blaze 3D perform?  It's is powered by the Trident 3DImage 975
that runs at 230 MHz.  I realize it's not a 3DFx card, so I'm not expecting
that level of performance.  However, I would like to play some Windowze-based
3D games (including Quake).  This card would be to hold me over until I can
get a Rendition V2200 card (primarily for Nascar2/Indycar2).

Also, how does the Creative Labs Graphics Blaster 3D run?  It has a Trident,
though I'm not sure of the specs since it wasn't on the Creative web site.

Right now, I have to buy a new video card so I need something that's good in
DOS (especially for GP2) and decent in Windows and will not cost much.  Here's
the specs on the card from http://www.jaton.com/blaze.htm
