I have found this weird problem when using opengl is nr2003.  At
DAytona or Talladega, at least once per lap my frame drop from say
60-70 to 10-14.  A huge stutter occurs, and then the frame rate goes
to 80 and I'm good for another lap and the same thing occurs.
Geforce Ti4000 1024x768x32.  I've tried different drivers, no good,
but in d3d no problem, but the framerate isn't as great.

Specs: P4 1.8 o/c 2.34 Ti 4400 o/c 305/610.

Turn off the solar effects in the graphics options when you run in OGL -
that's the source of your problem.

Will try this, but I have to admit that I do like the solar effects.
Have you run into this problem?

Thanks exx

I had the same problem until I turned AA completely off.  I ran it at 2X to
get rid of the jaggies but as soon as I turned it off the framerate hit was
gone.  I can now run with solar effects and everything turned on.  Try that.

This is correct, now that I recall - AA was the main conflict with the solar
effect, though the hit was a good bit worse in OGL than D3D.  I prefer to
run with AA, but some probably won't.
