Problem Loading NR2003 Patch

by Joe Blo » Mon, 22 Sep 2003 13:32:25

I have tried this several times and I keep getting the same thing.

While trying to load the patch I get the following error message:

The file C:\Papyrus\Nascar Racing 2003
Season\tracks\north_carolina\north_carolina.dat is not a valid previous
version and could not be upgraded.

Here are the steps I followed to get to this point:

As suggested on the Papy website, I went to the 'Check for Updates' program
in the NASCAR Racing 2003 folder and downloaded the patch. It was during the
application of this patch that the error message comes up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Joe,

Obvioulsy 2 things are possibly what is wrong, NO ACCUZATIONS implied
BTW..

1 the .dat file is on a bbad sector on the HD, or anything that might keep
the file from being read accurately by the patch.  Do a scandisk, thorough,
and physical  surface scan, it might repair it, but probably not?  (when the
file is important, my experience tells me it fails, but if the file isnt
that important, well dont you know it worked on it, but the one I NEEDED it
fails to save it  <G>

2 it was downloaded or modified by a download, like an enhancement package?
BTW if you just insert the CD and reinstall, you wont lose any of the files
that you created unless you modified any .ini files...   your setups,
exports, wont be touched, but if you downloaded a car file that replaced an
original file name, it would be replaced back you know...
