NR2003 Patch & Wildfire Question...

by PlowBo » Thu, 10 Jul 2003 02:44:33

I know there are guys out there that have the patch in Beta form, How
freaking big is the dang thing going to be to download??
Thanks!

Here is another one, & sorry Ill build up to my question but I hope it makes
sense this way...

Steering and speed?
There is one serious flaw trying to race road courses in NR2k3, that when
you get loose in any corner for that matter, that you cannot recover a small
to medium slide of the rear wheels, because you cannot counter-steer the car
anywhere near enough to correct the progression of a slide of the rear
end...  but even Michigan you cant recover a slide out of turn 2, because
that game assumes that you have the <NR2> steering locked to like 4 degrees,
at least until you get below 40 MPH or something, so you just learn to deal
with it...  But did they fix this?  So how are they going to fix that, or
did they bother?    am I the only one who notices this?
Thanks!

Wildfire Guys...

can you tell us approximately how big are each required amount of software
would be downloaded, for say ONE mod?  Like BGN? do I download 10 meg of
tracks, plus what about 10 meg of "mod"?  Not that it would stop me, I am
wondering if I need a zipdrive, or to get that USB 40 gig harddrive setup I
have been eyeballing...  (I wont be downloading at home, over 33.6k dialup,
OK?)

Thanks!

Ok, I found the FAQ link for Wildfire stuff (didn't realize there was
another link when I went to the empty FAQ link...  DOH)

Anyway 30 meg or so for mods, plus tracks, do I have that right?  or more
like 20 meg probably tracks, then 5-10 meg for the mod?

While we havn't built the final installers yet, it looks like the GNS and
CTS mods will be around 25-30 megs.  Ofcourse this could change some before
release but I dont expect it to.
THe tracks will be available individually and should be between 5-10 megs a
piece.  While the entire package gets pretty big, I think we've broken down
into managable pieces.
