Had a go at this yesterday. Me on ADSL (London, England) the other guy in
Holland on Cable. At first it was very choppy but after 1 lap it cleared up
and was really fun. Both of us being on broadband the connection was smooth.
We only did about 5 laps though. Longer testing needed to be sure.

Just give it 1 lap to smoothen out. It was VERY choppy initially :)

Can you give me step by step directions on how to connect GP3 using a
cable modem? I just can't seem to get it to work. My dad and I have been
trying. I can host but we can't figure out how to join the race. I would
probably just run 2 cars.

I'm definitely interested in trying this.  Before, without the GPx patch,
internet play was impossibly slow.  I tested it a few times and then gave
up.  Maybe with this latest version of GPx things have changed.
