So I guess we should all drive 20mph or under... because a child could run out
from behind a parked car, driveway or some obscure place and onto the road!!
Your argument doesn't make sense.  What Pat is trying to point out is that by
doing the manuever at 30-40mph coming out of a sharp corner, they spin the car
around on the road surface so as not to send the other car off the road.  It
makes total sense to me.

Not at all. A driver in control of his vehicle will have time to see things
if he is being observant, anticipate and deviate from his course and speed.
A car that is spinning has no chance of doing this in my humble opinion.

obscure place and onto the road!!  Your argument doesn't make sense

I used the child scenario as a specific example. Given time, I'm sure that I
could think of 1001 other instances where an out of control spinning car
could be more than just a slight case of tyresmoke accompanying a simple
rotation.

.  What Pat is trying to point out is that by

30 to 40 mph out of a sharp 90 degree corner sounds like a fair*** of
speed to me.

car off the road.  It

On British TV, I have seen this manoeuvre being performed on vehicles
travelling in excess of 55 mph.

Dave, I'm not going to get into any protracted argument over this issue.
Let's just agree to disagree.

Cheers mate
