OK Guys, A Question about the many F1 2001 mods....

by FC » Wed, 26 Jun 2002 11:29:29

OK, seeing as most of the mods are to be made for F1 2002 as well, could somebody please tell me the difference between
-ALMS mod
-Lemans 2k1 mod
-FIA GT mod
Is it possible to have all 3 working (as separate games!)?

Which is better BTW?

TIA

You can have all three mods working off the same install of F1 2001.  They
do not intermingle at all.  Some tweeking of tracks may be necessary to
ensure compatiblity tho.
ALMS has a stickier feel to it.  You can really throw the cars into turns.
LeMans 2k1 has a similar feel as ALMS.
FIA GT V3 is loosest feeling.  You have to be nice to your car.  If you
attempt driving the FIA cars like those in the ALMS patch, then you will
find many off track experiences.
Which is better?  Well ALMS and FIA are more refined...the LeMans mod
hasn't even been officially released yet.  But all three provide a very
enjoyable racing experience.  However all three suffer from the weak online
mode that is found in the F1 2001 engine.
Heck they are all free, dload them and try them out.  Try the Japanese
Sports car mod, the CART mod takes a little more work to get it running but
it too is a different racing experience.  They all can work off one install
of F1 or you can be extravagant and have separate F1 installs for each...

I would go with ALMS mod first, you can jump right in them and find the
limit quick. It's definitely easier to drive and more fun racing the a.i.
The FIA gt v3 mod is good too, but it has alot less grip. I haven't played
them much anymore after getting F1 2002, this game is AWESOME! I cant wait
for the ALMS mod for 2002!
