F1 2001 Mods Question

by bertr » Tue, 24 Sep 2002 01:00:01

I know that this has been asked before, but I just changed video drivers
on my system, and now the ALMS mod and GT Mod only load straight
F12001.  I believe that something needs to be changed in one of the ini
files in each of the mods, but I don't recall what it is.

Can anyone provide me the information to get these 2 mods running
properly again?

Thanks!
Bert

  F1 has a file called config.ini
fia gt has a file called configfiagtv3.ini
  alms has file called alms2001gt.ini

copy from config.ini the long string of numbers after the = sign that are on
the line that begins
vidguide=
paste that number to the same spot on the other two .ini files.
have fun.

F1 2001 Mods Question

Thanks for the tip, Dave.

That did the trick -- err, sort of.  My shortcuts now start up the correct mod,
but the display for both mods is now very narrow horizontally.  In other words,
there is about 1 inch of black on both the right and left sides of the screen.
This "narrowness" shows itself immediately upon starting up -- at the very first
title screen -- and it remains that way for all screens.  I don't have this
problem with "pure" F1 2001.

I seem to recall that the last time I changed video drivers, I had to copy/paste
a lot more than the values from that line.

Any idea how I can correct the screen "narrowness"?

Thanks!
Bert

Copy from videoram to fsaa

Is your card an ATI ?

I think something has changed between the last and the second to last
version of these drivers, the value for 1600 x 1200 as changed from being in
the 80s to the 70s.

What your seeing might be related to a wrong refresh rate....
