Hello

Got this, not patched yet, never tried it before...

So I guess the usual questions :

1) How do I set the wheel to work, with these ***ING deadzone and
sensitivity settings I can barely go straight (by the way who is the
SHITHEAD at EA who made this like that ?)
2) using 23.11 and my geforce IImx in fullscreen mode I have what seems to
be "decent" framerate, but black mirrors although they are ticked in the
options...
3) Is there a setup site ? I tried Monza with the ferrari and the original
setup locks at 328 kph in the straight with the engine on the limiter, is it
the same idiot from EA who made the wheel setting that made the default
chassis settings ?

Thanks

A not so impressed txl... (F1 RC is MUCH nicer right now)

1. Good Q, lemme know if you get a sensible answer that doesn't involve with
screwing around setting magic numbers in DXTweak. I don't think EA (or ISI)
did much testing with FF wheels, which is just mind blowing. Or the testers
tweaked it to their liking but didn't tell the managers about the problem.

2. Install the patch, trust me. Fixes most of the graphics problems (incl.
mirrors and frame rate), adds FF, and doesn't seem to have done anything
bad.

3. Dunno, probably lots by now. I suck worse than the setups so I haven't
bothered even looking in there yet.

Forgot to say, I'm using XP, so no DXTWEAK or DXDEADZONE....cause they don't
run in XP, well DXTWEAK does but it's the other one i would need...

Thx

ok, got the patch, mirror problem solved...

the steering still SUCKS big time....the best i could get is 0 deadzone and
around 90% sensitivity, which is TOTALLY undriveable for more than 3 laps
(the ring at gpl in the BRM is a piece of cake compared to monza with this
crap)

I've played with the setups (no downloaded ones so far) and it seems
reponsive all right, but i still can't play the game because of the
steering.

the FF is a joke or what ? on my Act-labs force rs all it does is "rumble"
in the corners, no real "force" just vibrations and the collisison detection
is more than questionable...

Less and less impressed Txl....F1 RC is still ruling, by far...

www.simbin.com has a lot of good resources, esp. a bunch of forums which
discuss various setup aspects.

The default values are just that - default.  FF in this game is heavily
customizable.  Come over to the High Gear forums -
www.sportplanet.com/hg/forums  There's a bunch of people in the EA's F1
series forum, discussing this issue lately...

Try 0 dead zone. 20% sensitivity. 85% speed sensitivity. I'll e-mail you
some setups. Set your throttle axis to around 65% or higher.

DXDeadZone works fine here on XP.  I set it for Win98/ME compatibility
mode.

Did you actually SELECT a setup, or just start driving?  If you didn't select
one, do so.  That apparently catches a lot of people(including me...).  Go to
the setup screen, click on Italy - watch your top speed number change.

Set the deadzone to 0 and "sensivity" to 50 % which is linear steering
(long story). Works like a charm on my MSFF. The only thing that
doesn't work properly is split axis :(

DXTweak.exe is running fine without compatibility mode here.

Then they both work on XP.  Choice is a good thing. <g>
