I think the answer you'll get from the ng is yes go for FF - on the
basis that "more is better".
I'm just jealous because I cannot justify it until my
TM sprint falls to pieces - and it is proving to be annoyingly reliable.
The other option (for me) is to attempt to quietly introduce a FF wheel
without rest of family noticing the selfish disregard for family
finances.

I think I`ll get this wheel for GPL. My only question:
Do I need to have a midi port at my soundcard to get it to work cause
I have only a old SB16 with IMHO no midi port.
Thanks!

Why don`t you switch off FF for GPL - is this possible?
Maybe it`s without FF like the MS Precision Racing Wheel?

Marc.
For me, GPL is essentially impossible without force feedback.
I tried it for weeks when I bought the game, and despite knowing
that slower is faster and that smoother is a lot more likely to
stay on the track, I never could manage it at all. I probably
had some control setup problems too, but I really did expect
that I'd be able to stay on the track with GPL after probably
10,000 laps in other sims. I didn't even care (yet) about being
fast. In two weeks I probably managed to stay on the track
at the Glen about ten laps, and I basically put the game away.
Then I bought a Logitech FF, for other games. Holy smokes,
what a difference! Now I can even correct a spin (well, some
of them) by feeling the wheel and feeding opposite lock,
something I've been able to do only rarely with ANY sim. I
now spend nearly all of my sim racing time with GPL.
