If you can't get your brakes to lock up at the end of a long straight
with hard braking you either have a controller problem or you have the
anti-lock brake help option checked. First check the latter, under
options.

If you're using a joystick button or a keyboard key as your brake
pedal, then braking help (read: anti-lock brakes) will be enabled, even
if it's not checked on the Options screen.  The same is true if you're
using a button or key for your throttle (traction control will be
enabled).

I may be wrong, but it seems that if you use a button to brake in GPL
it is like using brake help since there is no pedal travel to model,
it is either on or off.

oh heck.........k...thanks guys........no wonder i seem to be not able to
get close to some top times in the game then....I wonder why it does
that?......and yes I have both traction and braking help off.....although i
do use auto gearing.I'd love to be able to use the keyboard just to drive
GPL but the only patch that i have seen doesnt quite work as fine as the
joystick(very clutzy steering).Looks like a wheel and pedals are my only
answer.
