GPL FF not working

I have just installed the 1.1 patch for GPL in the hope of getting FF on my
Logitech Wingman to work. So far there  has been no force feedback.
The wheel is plugged into the USB port and in properties "enable FF" is
ticked.
Am I missing something?

You'll have to read the instructions that come with the GPL 1.1 patch
(readme file).
