Although I seen the line is not so good message I have ran multiplayer over
telephone quite a few times. I did notice a multiplayer problem both with
modem and IPX network though. Seems the host computer or the one answering
has a big advantage. I got took out twice as the client and crashed into the
wall. After telling my friend to try and race clean, he replied with ,"what
happened? I never even touched you."
After reviewing replays on both systems, the host system showed plenty of
space as my car got took out by nothing, but on the client(dialer) system it
looked like a delibrate punt that crashed me. I have seen lag problems
before and this was smooth uninterupted play. We still had fun racing, just
stayed a little farther apart. It wasn't some kind of freak thing either, I
took quite a few crashes before getting mad enough to ask, "Thanks. Wanna
drive some clean races now?"
