Yeah the sense of speed is not very good in this game. That is
obviously important to you. Motorhead is probably more to your liking
I would bet.

I absolutely love Viper for its handling and how tweeking the car in
the garage ACTUALLY changes the cars handling. Very challanging and
quite realistic. And because of the fact that the sense of speed is
much lower it makes it seem you have more time to 'handle' the car.
You can enjoy each turn longer. Try and step the tail out a bit for
that little extra drive. You can do a mid turn correction or slow down
a bit to arc a new exit line past another car with this slower sense
of speed.

Gfx are ok but not awesome. Sounds are much better in this newer demo.

Viper is definitely aimed more towards the sim ppl I think.

Suggestion: just pretend the mph are actually kph :)

Heheh...good one :O)  ... Yes the model is good no doubt but, these
are vipers not Ford Falcons. A good model is kinda like saying "yes
but she had a nice personality".  This is racing...what is cool about
racing?....the thrill of breakneck speeds as well as driving cars we
only wish we could get behind the wheel of.
If got behind the wheel of a Viper and seemed as slow as this
simulator was portraying i would be bummed :O(

I would have to agree with this. I think the sense of speed and e***ment
is relative to the maximum grip of a vehicle and how close to that limit you
are. If you go through a turn in a Formula Atlantic at 120 mph and you can
normally go through the turn at 135mph then it doesn't seem that fast and
exciting. If you go through the same turn in a Formula Ford sliding it over
the limit of grip at 80mph, it may not look as fast but it can be very
exciting. If you watch a lot of Trans-Am racing in car camera and then watch
Showroom Stock in car camera; the SS incar will look very slow. If you watch
the T1 race at the SCCA Runoffs on Speedvision, the incar camera of the
Viper does not look like its going very fast.

I think part of the "lack of speed" can be referred to those wiiiiiiiide
streets in viper racing. Take a look at NFS III - the streets are about
half as wide.

Also, man mailt sich...
