PAPY / GPL : why not forcefeedback like in viper racing

by Rodoge » Thu, 17 Dec 1998 04:00:00

hello,
papy tell us that technology is not as good this could be and this is not
necessary
to make force feedback in gpl.
i'm not agree with this point of view.
i've bought the microsoft force feedback whell and after trying viper racing
demo,
we can tell that this games give a very good feeling of the car
- you can feel the car limits wich is the most important
- as your speed increase your steering because harder and harder
- if you want to turn fast as you have great speed or at the limit of the car,
the hard
force will inform you that first, it's not a good idea anf the force you'll
have to apply
will be so hardier that you'll not do it execpt if you want to make mistake !
- as you arrive at a top of a hill, your steering become softer
- lot of other effects (contact, out of the road ...)

without contest, a patch with force feedback will increase realism and i think
that
you plan to do the more realistic simulation ... why not ?
maybe you're too busy at the time with nascar99 to do it ... can we expected
one
later ?

other, i wait add-on for gpl, new seasons will be welcome and of course new
cars
and new tracks

You're right.  My experiences with Force Feedback on CMR and F1RS make the
games much more enjoyable and immersive.  If it worked on GPL it would
enhance an already excellent sim.  I don't think anyone should be allowed to
release a sim nowadays that doesn't support FF.

Jon.
