???N2--some tracks not working via modem???

by RWF0 » Wed, 22 Apr 1998 04:00:00

My racing buddy and I run our own series via modem following the Winston Cup
schedule.  We've done this for the past couple years.  When we got to Texas the
track loads ok both sides of the connection but at his end he doesn't show up
in the track?  During the same connection we can go to a different track and
all works fine.  He dumped N2, reloaded everything and we still get the same
results.  I cant remember if I patched the AI from a DL of one of the web sites
or not.  Would that have any affect on the problem if we didn't have the same
AI so to speak?  We can both run it fine non modem. Yes we both are using legal
software versions--Bush Expansion Pack and N2.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Are some of the tracks on the list Gray/Grey?

I do not own N2, but in ICR2 there is a track limit that will make some of
the tracks unselectable while playing over the modem.  It is also in N1.
This limit is 25.  The track will still load and work on the one computer,
but not on the other.

I know N2 ups this limit, but I don't know to how much it does.

Also, make sure that you both have the same tracks in the /TRACKS
directory.

If some of the tracks listed are grey, then count the number of grey
tracks.  Subtract the grey tracks from the total number of tracks in
the /TRACKS directory.  This should be the limit allowed over the modem.
