Hi,
I know it is hard to believe we don't have a track converter yet by
anyone, especially by Gehard yet. Since nothing has been happening I have
decided to work on one myself. I am currently working on Indianapolis for
N2. If I get enough responses asking for beta1 of the track I will post the
file here and in the SPEED Page. Beta1 would conclude pretty bad traction
with computer speeds. Really the only thing you would really have is the
track it self to calm your hot tempers for Indy. This message was just to
inform you that someone is finally starting something with Indy and track
converting!!!!

                                        Mark

Does a converted Indy track work with the rendition version of ICR2??????

My pallette is total screwed up when I try to use a converted Indy track.
It is so bad, the track is undrivable.

Any ideas??????

   Yes.

A couple.  Some even pertaining to your problem.  :)

Idea 1: Are you using the later version of Gerhard's convertor?
There was an earlier convertor that had palette problems.  The newer
version should be on the US Pits site.

Idea 2: Are you using the original Indy track pack?  Some people
are posting the original Indy track to the net (illegal), while some
are posting the *converted* track to the net (still illegal).  If you
run the converted track thru' the convertor *a second time*, that
might cause palette problems.

Good luck.  If I'm right, do I win a copy of MTM or something?  ;)

Before you send me UCE, I know what you're thinking...  Did he complain
to five or six postmasters last month?  Now, you must ask yourself one
question: "Do I feel lucky?"  Well, do you, punk?

Well, with Gerhards converters you had to have the original track to
convert it and make it usable with another sim. He's making a track and
posting it, and you don't need the original track to use this one.

Hi,
Well actually I am hoping to get the track off ICR2 because I lost the
NASCAR version of the track. Plus I am trying to get it converted from the
converted Indy from Icr2 --> Nascar2. Hope this answers your concerns.

If you do not use Indianapolis trademarks, logos etc. there is nothing
illegal about this.  If you steal bits from Papyrus' tracks - then you will
be violating the copyright of the N2 software.  However, if you convert the
Indy track from ICR1 track pack or N2 converted format or if you develop
the track from scratch - this is 100% legal - since you are not giving away
copyrighted material or using corporate trademarks or logos.

Its not illegal to convert this track(INDY) OR create one from scratch
with ALL
the sponsor's logos as long as it is given for free! If there is money
made on the distribution
of it, then YES it IS ILLEGAL.

Not if he's distributing the track to others.  It would only be
*legal* if he provided the conversion utility, but even this is
a grey area.
