RASCAR: Roof riding

Same here. I can drive from the***pit view, but prefer the roof view in
NR200x. I personally like a camera to be fixed to the car to help me judge
what it is doing. When developers decide to try and emulate head movement in
NR200x, I have trouble, and revert to a fixed camera. If the nearest fixed
camera is on the roof, then I have to drive from there. The problem I have
is you can't look left/right from the roof, so I actually think it's too
restrictive up there <g>

Goy, I'm not sure where your going with this but Adam has more
than taken up the slack even though he isn't on this NG. Thank God. :-)

Adam is a putz, he's annoying as hell, but he's a putz, and the endless
threads he has going with the Mains, with childish attempts at abuse and
posting incredibly lame pictures with stupid captions are more than I
can bare (?), hence he's only the second person ever I have kill filed,
Y2Krick being the first

Byron on the other hand, now there was a guy who could insult/flame,
someone in here once said; "this post calls for some industrial strength
flaming, where's Byron Forbes"

And I agree :-), hell, even DGF comes across as a reasonable guy after
trying to "argue" with Adam :-)

Goy, maybe this is a bit arcane but I was looking for something
the other day(doing a little historical research) and stumbled across this
saying of Francis Bacon from his work the Novum Organum.
"You most assuredly have that which is characteristic of most boys,
they are prompt to prattle but cannot generate; for their wisdom abounds
in words but is barren of works."
I wonder if he knew Adam or met someone like him. :-)

Well !!!

If you are going to talk in code so that us poor redneck racing boys can't
understand, well that's your decision to make, but down home we consider it
it just plain rude.  ;o)

Goy, now that you mention it. People I know wake up screaming
from horrible nightmares and this is while I'm having a conversation
with them. :-)

That's OK.

I once spent much to much time with Sartre's "Being and Nothingness".  Got
to the part where he was pondering the meaning of "transcendant
transcendance transcending" and I decided it had something to do with
getting off.

   .   .   .   Way off   .   .     ;o)

I would agree now - the original comments I had copied from a Feb 99 post
by both of us - to prove how little had changed!

Personally whilst I think GTR-2002 is an incredible piece of work the ISI
engine both in terms of graphics & feel just don't cut it for me. Maybe if
I invested a few weeks tweaking controller settings it might - but I am
not.

The graphics engine looks great for static screenshots but on the move is
just lacking something compared with GPL fully modded up.

So there is a place for a new lower formula sim - at least here.

Cheers
Tony
