I've never experienced this with my LWFF in over 18 months of use. Which
Wingman software are you using?

FF dropout in GPL

This was posted on the T&R forum. Anybody got a cure?

I'm experiencing drop out of FF mid-race in GPL using the LWFF. I've tried
everything I can think of and cant seem to figure this one out. It's verry
frustrating :(
FF seems to give out on certain tracks <Nurb after 2.5 laps - Osring after 7
laps - Monaco after 20 laps to name a few> I have had this wheel installed
on two different machines, two different OS's, all new hardware, all fresh
installs and still it persists. Logitech say's it's a software problem
w/GPL. I have even spoken with a Guillermot user who has the same problem.
Anyone else? Any suggestions?

Since he says he's contacted Logitech and they said it's a problem with GPL,
I assume he's using the latest Logitech drivers. Though I don't know why
Logitech would blame GPL since it doesn't seem to be a real common problem.

You mean right about 25 or 30 minutes into a driving session? Check your
screen saver/power monitor settings. Otherwise, I wouldn't know; I drive
MSFF here myself.

Michael.

Faulty power supply or connection? -Do the leds on the LWFF dim or turn off
altogether when the drop-out occurs?

A dip in supply voltage might hang the motor control logic while
communication with the PC keeps going (and thus position is still being
communicated). Just guessing here, obviously, but since the problem does not
occur with all units (mine and countless others function flawlessly) one has
to suspect hardware.

Might be interesting to compare motherboards and power saving settings as
well.

Also, has the user tried to change the connection method (serial to USB or
vise versa)?

% This was posted on the T&R forum. Anybody got a cure?

I had this happen once to me with the Guillemot wheel at Watkins Glen.
When I went back to the desktop after the race, it was the iForce
drivers that had given up the ghost.  I couldn't get any affects from
the Guillemot "Test Forces" feature.  I needed to turn the wheel off and
back on to reactivate the drivers.
