GPL in Rendition vs 3DFX

GPL in Rendition vs 3DFX

Fortunately I have both cards in my system (P-166, 64Mb RAM).

It was interesting to compare the performances of the two.  Running at
640 x 480 resolution and ALL graphics effects 'ON', I gained the
impression that the 3DFX card (Voodoo 1) was slightly faster.
However, the Rendition card has anti-aliasing and, in my opinion,
provides the better graphics due to the smoothing effect.

I then tailored the graphics to achieve a better balance of speed/detail
and definitely prefer the Rendition version simply because of the
smoothing effect on the jaggies.

However, it is a personal thing and there would probably be just as
many, if not more, people who would prefer the 3DFX mode.

Are you using a V1000 or V2x00 Rendition card?

Put the 3dfx in 800x600 mode. It looks a lot better than 640x480 and
I almost don't miss the Rendition's AA.....

Any thing probably looks better than on my Voodoo RUSH card.

I tried them both and on my 233 didn't notice much of a difference.
The rendition (V1000) does seem to look a tad better, but both seem to
perform about the same.  I hadn't tried the 800X600 yet though...that
could tip the scales...

I tried both in N2 and the 3dfx was just a tad faster, but again wish
a slight decreace in graphics.  They both look great though.
