Switching from 3dfx to Rendition in GPL

Switching from 3dfx to Rendition in GPL

A friend of mine has both Pure3d 3dfx and Stealth II Rendition 2100
cards on his P166 system.  GPL always defaults to the 3dfx card.  Does
anyone know how to force GPL to use the Stealth II instead?

Any help will be appreciated.

 Alan,
Towards the end of the install, the program installs different
executables for Rendition and 3dfx boards. I have the sim installed in two
seperate GPL directories, call one RendGPL and let the other default.
AFAIK, that's the only way to do it. With modern harddrives, it may not be
a problemon your buddy's system, but it sure does use up the disc space
<ggg.> All the best, Mike

Goto the Graphics section of the Options screens and select Rendition
from the 3D acceleration drop-down list.  You could also edit the
app.ini, changing the rast3dfx.dll to renddll.dll.

You do not need to install the sim twice. Just make a copy of the app file and
create one for rendition and one for 3dfx. copy whatever app you want in the
gpl directory before running the sim.

[This followup was posted to rec.autos.simulators and a copy was sent to

Well, when you install it, it asks which one you want, so you might have
to have a second install or just reinstall the game on top of itself and
chose Rendition.  There is probably an easier way, though.
