Runs quite smooth at 1024x768 with full detail, though I prefer to use
800x600.

I had only ever run 3dfx gpl, untill last night. I wasnt very pleased with
it, it was smooth, but had little pasues now and then, feeling of speed was
too slow, and look far too filtered. I decided to run rendition version so i
could see how slow it would be, but boy was i wrong!. Rendition version has
a 100% better sence of speed, it really feals like your going fast. It looks
alot better aswell, doesnt look anywehre as near flushed as the 3dfx version
does, and it doesnt have any pauses. Im running a 233mmx (no cache...
rooted) 32meg ram, 3dblaster PCI, orchid righteous, and rendition with full
detail runs great. i can run it in 800x600 with no mirror textures and its
almost as good. I was suprised by this, but maybee papyrus hasnt finished
optimising the 3dfx version, but even if ther framerates are there it still
wont look as good (the difference is like nascar2 rendition - 3dfx).

I agree.
I spent 3 hours last night switching between modes (Rendition and 3DFX
Voodoo 1) and fiddling with graphics and resolutions.

I'm convinced that not only does Rendition *look* better but it is
certainly faster.

 You guys are lucky, I have a Pentium-150, 32 megs and a 4 meg Monster 3D,
with full detail I can barely get 5 fps

I've heard this mentioned before... can you switch the anti-aliasing ON or OFF
? If so how?
Thanks,
