Best F1 Sim???

Hey F1 racers,

Due to a system change in my cable TV system I now get  Speedvision and I
have enjoyed the numerous types of Auto and Motorcycle racing.especially the
Formula 1 this morning at Monaco!!!!

Now I need to buy the latest F1 Simulator game. but which one ???

F1 RC ?
GP3??
Others???

Any advice is appreciated !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Although dated, I was partial to F12000. I haven't been able to find F12CS
locally yet, may end up ordering it.

Best F1 Sim???

The first modern F1 sim I tried after GPL was F1 2000 and I hated it.  I had
high hopes as I presumed it would be  step up from SCGT, however I was very
dissapointed.  I believed GP3 would come and maybe even be better than GPL.
Again highly dissapointed, instead of progressing from 1996 (GP2) to 2000,
Geoff Crammond decided to stay in 1997.  Some aspects of the game I like,
especially the weather but it is really not what you would expect in a sim
post-GPL.

When F1CS2K came out I dismissed it as F1 2000 re-badged to allow EA to rake
in a few million more.  I then tried a demo I recieved on a cover disk and
WOW!  What an improvment over F1 2000.  Everything was 100% better, the
graphics run smoothly, the physics are vastly improved, the sound is at
least starting to resemble that of a GP car and some of the tracks are
actually looking like their real life versions (though I still think GP3 is
more accurate with track renditions).

Hopefully F1 2001 will carry on with more improvements.

I don't play it much because it affects my GPL driving but imo F1RC is the
best in almost every department apart from AI and whether modelling (GP3) to
me it is the only one that feels right, and it also looks amazing :-)

Yea, but the AI is appalling. I would'nt recommend F1RC to anyone
until there is a patch that fixes the AI. Unless you just want to
hotlap. I would probably recommend FICS2000 over GP3, but not by much.

tried them all, despite the bugs F1RC is the king of the hill by far
(excluding GPL ofcourse).

We need a FAQ gents... ;-)

Tim, somebody posted the same question not even a day ago.  Imho, if you
want to buy the "latest", well that leaves only one, F1RC.  It's the best of
the worst.

  I had heard before the end of the season, and I had heard a better
graphics engine was being built...that may slow things down.  I am
suspicious...They quickly produced F12k because it was a port really of
SCGT.  Then the CS update was mostly AI fixes and some graphic
speedups..although I havent' seen too much more fps with CS.  Finally a
whole new graphics engine for 2001.  I would suppose to get that out in less
than a year would mean another prebuilt engine was being used..any chance
the SBK2001 guys have been helping out ISI???
