I know there is much debate over the F1 Sim games out there and which one is
best. I've thought about F12000 but if the online game component is anything
like EA Sports SBK2001...I don't even want to install it

Never got SBK2001 to work online yet and although I like the EA games... are
all their games as poor with Multiplayer?? (any have any success with
SBK2001 online?)

And yes... I'm looking for Modern day F1. I like the GPL demo...but I prefer
the newer cars.

For decent online play, you're out of luck. There is no modern F1 sim that
works well online.
F1RC and F1CS will run online with about 4 players, but it's not a patch on
GPL & N4 which can run with 20 and 30 ish.
