For once I will agree with you.. MGP is the "best" modern F1 sim.
But is Gp2 a "modern" F1 sim ? ;-) And if yes, where is the delimitation
between old and modern ? If there is not, somehow GPL "is" a modern F1 sim
no ? Well, you know... is World Circuit a modern F1 sim ? I mean, I could
delimitate that modern is everything after World War 1 ;-D

Let's consider that Joe is referencing Modern F1 sim as being cars
with aerodynamic traction aids. If that is the case MGPRS2 is
probably the best (heck besides F1RS I think it is the only). As for
pre-wing, no doubt GPL reigns supreme (heck besides the Retro Mode in
MGPRS2 it is the only). Not much to compare to, hey?
