Of the sims I have now, I like GPL and NASCAR Legends the best. But I want something different, something with downforce. What are your suggestions for sims available now, or in the near future?

We are waiting for Grand Prix 3 to come out, but for now the best is Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation 2(MGPRS2) by Ubisoft. The physics are not as good as GPL or NL (IMHO).

Microprose is the distributor, Geoff Crammond is the games' designer.
Yes, they were the best of their time.  But both predate 3D
accelerators and thus look the part.  GP2 still has a very large
following, which is indicative of its quality as a sim.  Me, I want some
pretty graphics to go with my racing, so I was using MGPRS2.  But lately
I spend my PC time with Nascar3 and Sports Car GT.  And this week I'm
100% playing the Playstation's Gran Turismo 2 :-)

MGPRS2 is the best current "modern" F1 sim. But GP3 will probably be much better. It should be out in march. Also, EA is doing an F1 sim, I hoping it will be at least as good as SCGT. One can hope right?

RS2 is really the only choice you can go for here.
It doen't get much support around here but then what does if it hasn't got the word "GPL" scraped all over the cover:-)

Anyways, this is great and although it hasn't got an official licence, everything is updated to 1999 and soon 2000 spec with one quick stop over at www.mgprs2.com (They are updating the site so it may be a bit inactive until the 1st of January)

If your prepared to wait then GP3 is the one to get.
Again this gets almost no support here, why I do not know, but if you take into account what GP1 and 2 were like and add the new stuff, GP3 is unbeatable.

Hey guys, thanks much - I have been looking in the local software stores, even in the bargin bids and have not found either of these titles. But I guess I should wait until GP3 arrives in March anyway.

Hehe, it's amazing how many times the letters GPL can be squeezed into a
thread when they are not required.  There must be some way to stop this
from takinGPLace...  OH NO!! It's happened again!  :-)
