Need recommendation on best race sim - F1 won't run on my Dell 400!

Well, I bought this hot new Dell 400 MHz machine so I could run the latest
and greatest in graphics-intensive racing and flight sims - and guess
what? F1 Racing won't install or run, and Ubisoft Tech can't figure out
why! After 3 days of trying, they told me to take it back to the store!

So what's the next best racing sim in terms of graphics power and good
gameplay? Grand Prix II is a year old already, Microsoft Cart Precision
Racing is graphically good but has flawed gameplay from what I've read,
and Nascar II is OK but I wanted something better. Any recommendations
from all the fellow race car jockeys out there? Thanks!

I think you mis-understood.  If you can't get F1RS to work
on your new PC, send the PC back to DELL.

The best racing sim isn't released yet. Its Grand Prix Legends. Why not
practice with the demo while waiting a couple of months for the release?

I have a Dell Dimension XPS D300, with this config (don't know how
similar this is to yours, but):
300MHz PII
64MB RAM
Orchid R3D-II Voodoo 2 card
Matrox Millenium AGP II card
Turtle Beach Montego soundcard (not using either the original or
latest Ubisoft 3D soundpatch)
CH GameCard 3 Automatic gamecard
Thomas Super Wheel
F1RS patch 1.09

and F1RS runs as smooth as silk, every since I patched it with the
Ubisoft 1.09 patch.

If you provide some more detail about your difficulties with F1RS,
someone in the n.g. might be able to help.  Don't give up on
F1RS...it's well worth the extra time to get it working, IMO.
