What is your system for GP3 well?

For all those people who say GP3 looks totally amazing and runs really very
smooth....

I am trying to get an idea of what *real* computer spec is required to play
GP3.

Please add to this thread details of your CPU, RAM & Graphics card.
Thanx

        I thhink GP3 turns  better than GP2, I have a Celeron 500Mhz, 160Mo RAM

and a 32Mo GeForce and it turn very well on 1024x768 with almost all details,
i'm really enjoyed about that, but i'm disapointed about the forcefeedback.

PIII 450MHz, 128Mb, 2x V2 SLI.

rains... occasional foray over the 100% occupancy mark, but otherwise
smooth. Shame about the game though.

GP3 is one for the people with 3rd generation 3D cards, I'm afraid.

Creative GeForce2 GTS 32md DDR
256mb RAM
SB Live

GP3, everything on, 1024x768

CPU Occupancy never gets higher than 60% even in wet weather races. Averages
around 30%...

Jan, perhaps I've asked you this before, but what brand are your SLI
cards, and more important, how much memory do they have?
Some people suspect that GP3 doesn't run with 8mb V2 cards...
(and GP3 doesn't run on my 8mb SLI cards so perhaps it's true)

Even from the few responses over the last 30 mins it seems to confirm that
the *recommended* spec quoted on the box is a complete joke (and the min
spec is a total lie and probably actionable in court).
It has confirmed what I suspected.
You *need* at least  a PIII 700 (preferably o/c to an extra 100mhz+ if you
can) with the best 3d card money can buy in order to actually have some
really good graphics AND the best playability (with some headroom) otherwise
everything becomes a poor compromise. JMHO

PIII 650 128Mb Ram, TNT (16Mb)

Runs a dream at 800x600 details maxout out (inc. all mirrors)
Avg. 80-90% PO. 25.6 FPS

PIII-550 128mb V3 2000 16mb

Running 10x7 full detail
hits 100% occasionally
very smooth almost all the time.

changing resolution doesn't seem to make any difference to this

however, I tried the fps patch and increased to 31fps and PO
went up noticeably.

This is total BS -- you don't "need" a PIII anything to run GP3.  I've
seen it run on a Pentium Pro 200 with 64 MB of RAM in software mode (NO
hardware acceleration), and it looked and ran fine.  Not stellar, mind
you -- the graphics were obviously compromised in software mode, but it
looked better than GP2 in SVGA mode, and it was definitely playable.

Bullshit? Very informative.

Have you actually read any of the other responses to the original message?
My PC is at least the *reccomended* spec (and more) and the game looks and
runs worse than shit.
What do you want? Do you want me to actually prove it? Shall I take a video
of me trying to play it and then send the tape to you?
I'd really like to see you try and play it smoothly on the MINIMUM spec of a
PII-266, 32mb ram and a 8mb 3d card.

You confirm most of my point.
You say.... "Software mode" and "obviously Compromised". So I take you agree
then.
Look, I'm not arguing the toss just for the fun of it. This is just not what
you expect from a game in the year 2000.

Yes, you did Andre (ask me before) and I gave you the wrong answer then....
I've double checked and they are:

2 x Creative Labs 3D Blaster Voodoo2 12Mb

Like I said before, I'm using the latest reference drivers from 3Dfx (but
they worked in Gp3 with the original DX7 drivers too).

Unfortunately this is the extend of the help I can offer, as I deleted the
eh.... "trial version" and have no intention of buying the game.
