GP3 and a new system with steering wheel!!!

I really hope GP3 is real, you know,  not a rumour invented by the
Internet.

but if it is real and is constantly delayed, I DO NOT MIND!!

I want to save up and get my dream system anyway.

oh yeah,  what steering wheel has "paddles" behind it like a REAL F1
car?

thanks

Dear Sean,

I think the best value for sim wheels is the Digital Edge Indy/F1 Sim.  It
is made of precision METAL, and has the paddle shifters behind the wheel.
There
are many GREAT features this wheel/pedal has (LED shifting lights,
torque/snap-back steering, etc...) but my personal favorite is the mounting.
You can attach/remove this wheel in 3 seconds with the two quick-release
***mechanisms.

You can check out the web page here;  http://www.racesimcentral.net/;and here;
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

As someone who has been involved in SIM racing since it's infancy, I can
tell you this wheel is NOT a toy, but a hand-crafted tool in the racer's
hands!  :-)

In the way of disclosure I should admit that I am sponsored by this company
as
a Sim Racer on TEN (look for the press release next week on the newsgroup as
well as a "grand opening" type sale).

Should you have ANY questions regarding this matter, feel free to contact me
at your convenience.

I have to agree, I've owned quite a few wheel and pedal set-ups (I
currently have three different ones?) and so far the F1 Sim is by far
the *best*, it simply has the nest *FEEL* to it, and the behind the
wheel paddle gear levers are awesome, no neet to take your hands off
the wheel at all now?

I also agree that the quick release mechanism is brilliant, as you
say it takes just a few seconds to either connect or disconnect the
wheel and steering column from your desk, and when its not connected,
you can use your desk as normal, without the hassle of clamps, or
base boards etc.

The *only* slight problem I have with mine is the self centering
device, sometimes it doesn't re-centre properly, so when the wheel is
dead straight, the car is slightly off line and driving slightly left
or right, but hey, I normally don't actually look at the wheel while
I'm driving, so I adjust the cars line without even looking.

BTW, The makers of the F1 Sim (Ballracing Developments Ltd - formerly
Interactive Racing) now have an upgrade to the steering device as
they too are aware of the re-centering problem, so even this minor
glitch can be fixed.

Buy one today.....

Thanks for your comments, Peter.

My F1 SIM has a allen wrench nut on the bottom of the wheel for
re-centering. My wheel is one of the latest designs, so that may be why I
haven't experienced the problem you mentioned.

ECCI have paddles on their F1 Monza wheel. It's a bit expensive
though! No need for clamps, or boards under the monitor with this

Hi Stuart. Have you got the new ECCI with paddles and/or Momo? I was
looking at the web page last night thinking the CDS4000 fully-tooled
looks pretty smart.

BTW, for the benefit of the original poster the TSW has proper paddles
behind the wheel too, and damn fine they are.

Cheers!

TSW makes excellent wheels, but cost a little more. I think Thrustmaster has
a new wheel out soon. MS has a new wheel coming out with paddle shifters,
ff, and dual or single axis ability along with some software which saves
your setups for different games and users. I don't know the price but it
sounds pretty good to me.
