GP3 Min Specs for V2 System?

by BRH » Tue, 25 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Unlike some of the threads I've seen posted here, I've had no problem
getting GP3 to recognize my V2 card.  However, it doesn't appear that it
takes advantage of SLI.

Even with resolution set to 640x480 and all graphics turned down to
almost minimum, I get extremely poor frame rates, even when only
hotlapping.

I have a Celeron 300a o/ced to 450 with 2 V2's SLI'ed.  Is there some
setting I'm missing, or is my system really too weak to run this
properly?  What would the minimum spec be using the 2 V2's?  (I don't
really want to upgrade to a V3 or V5, since I like my main vidcard and
want to continue using it.).

I haven't come across this problem before.  Even F12K runs well on my
system.  (At least well enough to satisfy me.)

Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.

GP3 Min Specs for V2 System?

I'm running it fine on my second system (Celeron 400, Voodoo2), smooth in
640 X 480, even over my network to main machine (PIII700 Voodoo3) - had a
blast of a race with my mate at Silverstone using IPX, although a bit of
slow down at start of race.

Its fine on the Cely400 for hotlapping or stand alone race - have you got
latest Voodoo2 drivers and reinstalled DirectX7?

cheers,

Andy.
